Enjoy a 360 virtual tour of Healey’s Cyder Farm, If you like cider then this is the place for you with almost everything you can think of. It’s a great place to take your kids with the animals to distract them while you can enjoy a few drinks at the same time.

If you like classic cars then don’t miss the Austin Healey collection which is on the right as you enter the Visitor Centre from the car park. The farm is larger than you realise with a lot more to do than you think for free. It’s a great place for a spot of lunch or to spend the afternoon. I’ve stopped here twice now and little had changed over the three years. You can sample all the cyders and even the whiskey although with these you usually have to pay for the taster. This year (2019) they had just introduced the new Pineapple flavour rattler and I can give it the thumbs up, especially on ice. When you’ve had enough you can sit down and enjoy some lunch in the restaurant, it’s a little bit pricey but the quality was good and then you can walk it off wandering around the animal farm.
I haven’t actually done the proper tour yet, perhaps I should look at it next time im down.
Healeys Cyder Farm was launched in 1986. Entrance is FREE and open all year.
What’s the Diference between Cyder and Cider?
- Cyder is made from 100% juice which differs from diluted cider; much like “extra virgin” olive oil, it involves a single pressing of vintage fruit by the fermentation of apple cider. Sugar in the apple cider is fragmented down by bacteria and yeast and turned into alcohol and then, vinegar. Cider, on the other hand, is produced from the multiple pressing of cider apple fruit followed the fermentation process and is available as both an alcoholic or soft drink.
- Cyder will mature and age in either a bottle or barrel. Compared to cider, cyder production is somewhat more artisanal and traditional, made with love and dedication. On the other hand, the more industrialised, mass-produced cider is not laid down to mature.
