How to Send 360 Photos with WhatsApp. The trouble with sharing an image the normal way in Whatsapp it compresses the file so it loses all the quality, will looks terrible to the recipient and it strips the metadata. Thankfully there is a way around this, yes you can send 360 photos on WhatsApp with a simple trick:
That trick is, DON’T share your photo as an image, instead share it as a document.
- Simply click on the little paperclip
- Select Document
- Browse other docs…
- Find your picture, select and send.
Sending your photo this way keeps metadata and is lossless, so it will not lose any quality, the recipient will see the full resolution photo and if they have a 360 player installed they can view it as intended and even better the latest mobiles (on android anyway) will now view it in 360 in the native gallery anyway without the need of an app.

i used to be able to send samsung 360 pics via whatsupp, but now it is only received as a flat photo? (I am using note 8)
Really that surprises me, Whatsapp has always stripped the metadata and reduced the quality when sending as an image for me 🤔 I found only by sending as a document does it then retain the metadata and quality. If you and whoever your sending the image to has the latest version of Samsung Gallery installed then you should both be able to view it in 360 no problems. Otherwise you’ll need to download a viewer/player app to view your 360 images. I’ve listed a few here: ashblagdon.com/360-players
