There are now two ways you can stitch Xiaomi Mi Sphere or Madventure 360 with your Mac.
Firstly Xiaomi have released a stitching tool, it’s very basic but does the job and you can find it here.
- File -> Open
- File -> Stitch All
Unstitched files are under the current user Documents catalogue.
Secondly, If the above doesn’t work for you then try this:
MADV360 Picture Stitching Tool For Mac is for use with either the Xiaomi Mi Sphere or Madventure 360 cameras. This tool created and developed by Dong Qiu stitches just like the official windows version and it can batch process and stitch the DNG files too! He has written a few instructions for how to install his tool:
- Keep ‘MADVPictureStitch’ executable file and ‘original’ folder in the same directory
- Put original MADV360 dual-fisheye pictures（”.JPG” or “.DNG” files, either from Mijia or MADVenture360 sphere camera） in original folder
- Click on MADVPictureStitch
- Take a cup of coffee
- Done! Stitched pictures will lay in ‘stitched’ folder.
If you get a message saying that the executable file is damaged as you click on it, that probably results in the security setting. Go to ‘System Preferences’ -> ‘Security & Privacy’, select ‘Anywhere’ in ‘Allow apps downloaded from’. If ‘Anywhere’ does not appear, type ‘sudo spctl –master-disable’ in Terminal and press ENTER, then go through the steps again.
This is a long awaited wish come true for Mac users who i’m sure will be very thankful. You can download it here
Update: 4/5/2018 Im told batch stitching with jpegs works fine with no problems. However there seems to be some struggles stitching raw files, with possible loss of data and damaged colours. Thanks to Linas Sapnagis for testing this for me.
