Enjoy a 360 virtual tour of Towan Beach is at the heart of Newquay and known for the Island, a towering rocky outcrop which is connected to the mainland by a suspension footbridge and is one of Newquays most photographed landmarks.
- The Island or Jago’s Island to give it its full name is joined to the cliff by a 90ft high suspension footbridge that dates back to 1902 and was formerly the residence of the famous scientist Sir Oliver Lodge.

- By Car, Parking is in main town with a 10 minute walk down a steep hill to the beach. There are a few parking spots on the residential streets nearby but you’ll be lucky to find one free. If you’re not going to be long there are 2 hour free parking on Narrowcliff Road.
- By Bus, station is around a 6 minute walk at the top of the hill.
- By Train, Railway station is a 15 minute walk.
- Small waves, ideal for novice surfers or calm waters for safe swimming.
- At high tide the beach gets covered.
- Full lifeguard cover from the 5th of May until the 30th of September.
- There are facilities including a café and public toilets.
- Dogs are welcome all year round.
- Disabled access and toilets. A sand chair is available to hire.
