Enjoy a 360º virtual tour of Paignton Sands, a long sandy beach in the middle of the Torbay English Riviera that attracts thousands of visitors every year. Its calm, shallow waters are great for paddling, getting out onto the water, or just relaxing and watch the world go by.
Update: 15th June 2020
- Added low tide images at Redcliff end and under the pier.
Paignton Sands is probably Torbay’s most popular beach with its stunning red sands, when together with Preston Beach as the tide recedes they form the largest stretch of beach in Torbay that’s a mile long. Dogs are banned on the sand during the summer months, which helps make it more child and pic-nic friendly. In the middle of the beach sits the famous Paignton Pier, with lots of amusements arcade machines, bouncy castle and food outlets. There’s the GeoPark which is just a stones throw behind the beach if the kids get bored of making sandcastles, Paignton Green which a perfect spot for a game of football or cricket and in the summer there are a number of events staged here and for you bigger kids there is a choice of pubs to enjoy a nice cold beer. If you’re an early riser it’s also the perfect place to watch the sunrise.
