I’ve been asked to make a 360º pub guide, so if your wondering what its like inside you’ll find out here. You’ll find a ever growing list of different establishments and events appearing as I explore with the camera in around Torbay and sometimes beyond.
Enjoy An Evening Drinking With Bays Brewery. You'll be shown all the equipment, the fermentation room, taste the different wheats and smell the malts that are used to flavour and colour the beer. They explain thoroughly the entire process, even down to the spent grains being given to the local farmer to feed his cattle, so there's little to no wastage.
Great location with great views. One of my favorite places to eat or just sit outside with a beer, in the sun, in torbay!!
The oldest building in Dartmouth dating from 1380 and still retaining many of its original interior features, oak beams, leaded lights and big stone fireplace
Close to the historic Bayards Cove and the ferry across the river to Kingswear, this is another favourite of mine especially on a sunny day, it has one of the best view of any pub in Dartmouth.
I hadn't been in here since they completed the rebuild. It is now a large, modern pub designed around serving food. It has three levels, the front has a big beer garden with tables and umbrellas, I believe it's the only beer garden offering outdoor dining in Dartmouth. There are several cool metal sculptures of dragons around and some wall art of ships from all ages on the River Dart and in Dartmouth Harbour.
Enjoy a pint with a view. This is a great place to eat or just sit outside with a beer, in the sun overlooking the Harbour.
If you like cider then this is the place for you. They have everything you can think of. Good place for the kids to with the animals to distract them while you enjoy a few drinks
I had a great afternoon enjoying some locally made cider down at Hunt's. They have been making traditional farmhouse ciders since 1805.
Newton Abbot family firm East Street Pub Company has taken over the pub which was previously known as the Mermaid, Murphy's and Gio's.
Formerly a 19th-century hotel on the seafront overlooking The Green. Now owned by the Marstons Group and these days a quiet pub
The KingsBeer Festival is set just behind the Kingswear railway station. Being right on the embankment it has great views of the River Dart. There was over 60 ales from across the UK, ciders, lager, prosecco, pimms, wines, soft drinks and live music to keep you entertained! #kingsbeer #beerfestival #kingswear
Known locally as 'the Nellie' it's a cosy, friendly old-school pub.
The Only Independent Village Pub In Torbay. Purpose built in the 19th century to replace a cider house that had been closed. It's the centre of life in the Dartside village.
Sun, Beer, Music & Friends. What More Do You Need? It's not just about the beer, music, dancing and feasting. Occombe festival is a charity event and by going festival goers help some of the places we love in Torbay. 100% of the festival profits go to Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust, who look after Berry Head, Ansteys Cove, Occombe Farm and Cockington. Sun, beer, friends and raising money for charity. Sounds like a great day to me, lets go....
Overlooking the harbour, this is one of my go to stops whenever i’m out in Torquay. It’s a great place to sit and enjoy the sun during the day and come evening there’s always a live acoustic set from one of the best bands in the bay.
A great pub based on the TV series with the same name, if your wearing a peaked cap then you might just get a free shot. This pub is steadily becoming Paigntons best for live music attracting some well known acts to perform.
Once known as Winstons, now with a change of management, they have added a friendlier approach with historical pictures of paignton on the walls, flowers on tables and an all new gin bar boasting over 100 gins.

The oldest pub in Dartmouth, though It wouldn’t surprise me if you were to walk right on past it as there is next to no signage, just a small sign leaning against a plant by the door. Once inside though your met with old wooden beams, two fireplaces and very friendly staff.
Sky Bar & Bistro is a nice and quite restaurant.
This pub is my favourite in the bay and has always been the go to place in Paignton not just for me, but for many a local & tourist over the years for some decades. Known locally simply as "Spinny" it may not be the oldest pub in town but it is the most well known.
Experience the Summer Moon Beer Festival taking place on the village's church meadow, this festival has a really nice chilled relaxed atmosphere. With music from a wide variety of bands (the majority of which are local) and with plenty of beer and activities for the kids. For the last few years there's been 60+ beers, 20+ Ciders and some wines to keep you quenched throughout the day.
In the sleepy riverside village of Calstock is this 17th century free house on the bank of the River Tamar in a beautiful location with fantastic views of the viaduct and part of the Tamar Valley Line Rail Ale Trail.
In the small riverside village of Kingswear is this traditional 15th-century English pub. It has spectacular views from the terrace overlooking the river Dart. Comfortable bar area where two open fires add to the warm atmosphere.
Tuckers Maltings is one of only four malt houses in the country which still produces malt in the traditional manner, supply over 30 breweries in the south west and annually throw what is probably the best selection of beers at any beer festival in the country #tuckersmaltings #beerfestival
On approach you see the lovely mill wheel and building covered in ivy. I had no idea how big the grounds were. When the food arrived it was delicious and I really couldn't fault it and while you eat you do have company from the free range chickens and peacocks for entertainment. It caters for anyone and everyone and certainly a place I'd be more than happy to return.
